"In an ideal world, all employers would be supportive and caring upon learning of any serious medical condition affecting an employee. In reality, however, there's no way to know how your particular manager will respond when your MS is revealed, unless your company has an established history of showing support for employees with health concerns. The Americans with Disabilities Act makes it illegal for employers to consider your diagnosis when making decisions about promotions or termination. However, this doesn't always stop employers from letting such information color their judgment."
